Support Seattle’s Fare Share Plan; Investing in Housing,Transit, and Workers!
On September 19, Mayor Durkan introduced the Fare Share Plan to make major investments in affordable housing near transit, in transportation projects, and in worker protections by adding a modest fee to ride hailing services.
Seattle City council will, over the next few months, consider the proposal. This is a powerful moment, with attention focused on Seattle’s affordability gap, coupled with the intention to grow equitably. Our advocacy and mobilization can elevate this proposal and make a huge impact on ensuring everyone has access to opportunities to live a healthy life – a good job, affordable housing near transit, and high-quality transit. Send a message to your city legislators letting them know we need to be using every tool in the toolkit to meet our communities' most pressing needs.
