Seattle’s Comprehensive Plan update is a once-in-a-decade chance to address our housing crisis, advance equity, and build a more sustainable future. This plan will determine where and how Seattle grows over the next 20 years and has the potential to unlock housing opportunities across the city.
The Mayor transmitted his draft zoning map and draft plan to the City Council in January 2025. The Mayor’s proposed One Seattle Plan is a major step forward to allow for more housing options in neighborhoods throughout Seattle.
As we approach the passage of Phase 1 of the plan, the Council should continue to strengthen the One Seattle Plan--not water down the plan for more housing in response to NIMBY pressure. In particular, we are asking Council to pass the following amendments:
